Cleanroom

Total precision cleanrooms Aust were engaged by Johnstaff to design and construct the cleanrooms including stainless steel doors, windows, lighting, passthroughs including refrigerated, and wall protection rails. Woods were the designers engaged by AstraZeneca. ISO-PHAR’s proprietary cleanroom system was used due to its excellent flexibility for trade services, flush finishes, fire resistance (group 1) and speed of installation. The site was a live site and presented with many challenges including COVID. The project was successfully completed in 2020.

AstraZeneca is the global sole supplier to China of a primary respiratory products used in the treatment of asthma. In response to a growth in demand from China for respiratory treatments, AstraZeneca Australia committed to the expansion of its medicine production capacity.

Johnstaff were the construction managers for the installation of three new manufacturing lines for its Pulmicort Respules ™ product: Respules 12, 13 and 14.  
Following the successful commencement of the initial lines, Johnstaff was engaged to deliver a fourth line, Respules 15.
